This week will be a special worship experience as we celebrate the young adults and students in our midst. Among our special guests is the Ithaca College African Drumming and Dance Ensemble, including members of Dr. Baruch Whitehead’s First-Year African Drumming and Dance seminar. They will present a piece from the Ewe people of Ghana including a dance called Bo, Bo, Bo. Also joining us is Dr. Luis Gallo Quintero, Professor of Oboe at Ithaca College, as well as Eoin Kelly and Maggie Pacheco, who will share about their work with Food Not Bombs. “Trio Sonata in C Minor” by Johann Joachim Quantz will be performed as the offertory by Drs. Quintero and Whitehead on oboe, Ian Croker on cello, and Christopher Morgan Loy at the piano. Eoin Kelly and Maggie Pacheco Food Not Bombs. The scripture lesson is from Ephesians 4:1-6, and Pastor Debbie Bennett Reynolds message is titled, “Ujamaa.” A luncheon featuring West African food prepared by Maimouna’s Cuisine will immediately follow the service.
