Pancake Day - Sunday, February 15
Feasting on the eve of Ash Wednesday is a long-held tradition. In the United Kingdom, Shrove Tuesday is celebrated by eating pancakes, the perfect way to use up eggs, fats, and sweets before beginning the Lenten fast. First Baptist's take on "Pancake Day" is being held on the Sunday before Ash Wednesday, which in 2026 is February 18.
The Hospitality & Nurture Committee cordially invites you to join us for a pancake brunch following worship at 11:30 a.m. In addition to pancakes with pure maple syrup and a variety of toppings, the menu will feature bacon and sausage, steel cut oats, and applesauce. Gluten free and plant-based options will be offered.
While not necessary, donations will be gladly accepted to benefit the Warming Center at First Baptist hosted by the Ithaca Tenants Union and Food Not Bombs.
