This class for LGBT community and allies establishes a framework for how assertive posture and speech translates into more empowered living.

Role plays and exercises to practice these important skills
Discussion of Why, What and When realities of speaking up and/or defending yourself 

Easy-to-remember techniques that can be used in a variety of situations
Students will learn blocks, kicks, strikes and escapes from wrist grabs

Workshops are free.  Space is limited so registration is required

Syracuse Gay and Lesbian Chorus 
will be presenting its 2008 Spring Pride Concert on Friday and Saturday, June 20 and 21, at the First Unitarian Universalist Society, 109 Waring Road, in Syracuse.  the concert, titled "A Deeper Love," starts at 8:00 PM.  The evening's event will include a post-concert reception and door prize giveaway.  Tickets for the concert are $15 in advance and $18 at the door.  Senior and student tickets are also available.  Tickets can be purchased at the Lavender Inkwell Bookshoppe, or reserved online by emailing:  SGLCtickets@twcny.rr.com
